We take fairness, trust, and transparency seriously at Verly. This policy explains how we handle reports, disputes, and takedown requests for reviews or listings on our platform.
1. Our Approach
- We aim to be fair, neutral, and consistent in all moderation decisions.
- We don’t take sides—we rely on evidence, context, and community standards.
- Reviews are a form of public feedback. We balance free expression with protection from abuse or misinformation.
2. When Content May Be Removed
We may remove or restrict content that:
- Violates our Review Guidelines
- Is clearly false, defamatory, threatening, or harassing
- Is spam, promotional, or irrelevant to the service experience
- Discloses private or sensitive personal information
- Is part of a pattern of manipulation or fake reviews
3. Reporting Content
- Anyone (users, businesses, or the public) can report a review or listing for review.
- Reports must include a reason and any supporting context.

4. What Happens After a Report
- Our moderation team will review the content within 5 working days
- We may request additional context from both sides
- If we find a breach, we may:
- Remove the content
- Notify the author or business involved
- Apply warnings or restrict accounts (in serious/repeat cases)
If no breach is found, the content will remain online.
5. Business Disputes
If a business disputes a review:
- They should provide factual context or evidence
- We may contact the reviewer for clarification
- We do not remove reviews solely because a business disagrees with the feedback
- If both parties agree, reviews may be edited or withdrawn
6. Right to Appeal
- If content is removed and you disagree, you may appeal by emailing [email protected]
- Appeals are reviewed by a second moderator when possible
- Final decisions are made in line with our commitment to fairness and transparency
7. Legal Takedown Requests
If you believe content violates UK law (e.g. defamation, privacy breach):
- Contact us at [email protected] with full details
- Include links, explanation, and your relationship to the content
- We may consult legal advisors and will respond within 14 days
8. Transparency Reporting
We aim to publish annual moderation stats including:
- Number of reviews reported and removed
- Common reasons for takedowns
- Average response times
This helps keep our processes accountable to the community.
